History
MENCHES TOOL & DIE, INC has a long history of high quality and performance goals.
John Menches Sr., the founder, had many years of training and experience with Schlage Lock Company, Litton Industries and other Bay Area companies. In 1968 John Menches started his own business and experienced immediate success. John’s first orders came from his previous employers, knowing his expertise and his talents in Tool & Die Design and Manufacturing background.
In 1968, John incorporated as MENCHES TOOL & DIE, INC. The company grew , expanded and entered into other areas of manufacturing, focusing on the aerospace industries.
John Menches Jr. worked along side his father bringing new ideas and plans for expansion. In 1997, Menches purchased CNC equipment, applied to become a Boeing Licensee and was approved for Mechanical and Engine Handling Aircraft Ground Support Equipment.
John Menches Sr passed away in 1999. His son, John, took over as president and has continued the growth and success of the company. All MTD key employees have been with the company over thirty years and are an important part of our history.

For over a quarter century the Menches family has maintained the highest standards in machining and tool making, closely monitoring each step from receipt of your order to the final sign-off. Menches offers computerized and manually operated stations in two locations, Hayward and Placerville.
Our Quality Control Department is dedicated to maintaining Menches’ reputation for precision. The QA staff has over 30 years experience and works closely with our customers providing metrological and post-machining process documentation.
